Enhance your lawns overall health and appearance by seeding!
Why seed in the fall?
With cooler temperatures, more rain and dew, this is the ideal time to get grass seed to germinate and establish a thicker lawn. Soil is able to retain the needed moisture and without extreme summer heat or spring weeds to hinder the grass seed, fall is the best time to seed.
Why should you seed?
A lawn does not have new seed added tends to grow old and become thin. If a lawn is mowed regularly, the grass does not have the ability to grow seed and replenish itself. Even with proper fertilizing and watering, a lawn that is not seeded will eventually begin to lose health and vigor. Newer, high quality varieties of seed are getting better at fending off insects, disease and are more drought tolerant.
How should you seed?
Seeding is best done at the same time as Core Aerating. This allows for better seed to soil contact and also gives the seed a better chance to germinate in the open holes that the aerating produced.
What are the benefits of Fall Seeding?
- Maintain a thick healthy lawn
- Fill in bare spots
- Introduce new high quality varieties of seed
- Reduce weed, insect and disease pressure with new seed varieties
